NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
The following promotion is intended for play in the United States (excluding New York and Florida) and Canada only and will be construed according to US and Canadian law. Please do not enter if you are not located in the United States or Canada.
1. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Sweepstakes begins on November 6, 2006 and ends on April 17, 2007. To participate, contestants can receive one entry by visiting www.HelloBC.com/ski prior to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time April 17, 2007 and completing the Ski Sweepstakes entry form by inputting their full name, e-mail address and mailing address and then clicking "Submit". To enter without internet access, contestants can hand-print their full name, mailing address, daytime telephone number and date of entry on a 8" by 5 ½" plain piece of paper, sign the paper and mail it to: Hello BC® Ski Sweepstakes, 244 - 280 Nelson Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2E2. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by April 17, 2007 and received by April 24, 2007. Entries become the property of Tourism British Columbia ("Sponsor") and will not be returned.
Limit one entry per person regardless of method of entry.
To be removed from Tourism British Columbia's mailing list, send your request along with your full name (as printed on the direct mail piece you received) and complete address on a 8" X 5 ½" plain piece of paper to: Hello BC List Removal, 244 - 280 Nelson Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2E2 or call 1-800 HELLO BC.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be legal U.S. or Canadian residents (excluding residents of New York and Florida) who have reached the age of majority in their province or state of residence as of November 6, 2006. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, marketing partners, suppliers, advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse) of, or persons residing in the same household as, such persons, are not eligible. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Void in New York and Florida, and where prohibited by law. Participation in this Sweepstakes constitutes contestant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Sweepstakes Rules. Participants who do not comply with these rules are subject to disqualification.
3. PRIZE
There is one (1) grand prize package available to be won. The prize consists of four (4) nights standard accommodation at the British Columbia ski resort of the winner's choice for four (4) people (based on double occupancy in each room), round trip economy air transportation for four (4) from the major commercial airport nearest the winner's residence to the major commercial airport in BC nearest the winner's choice of resort, and $2000 CDN in spending money. The retail value of the prize will depend on the departure airport and is estimated to be approximately $8500 CDN/$7590 US based on an example San Diego, CA departure and selected destination of Whistler, BC.
Taxes, if any, related to the prizes are the responsibility of the winner. Prize consists of air transportation, accommodation and spending money only, and all other costs and expenses associated with the Grand Prize, including without limitation transportation to and from the airport in the winner's city or area of residence, all ground transportation in British Columbia including ground transportation to and from the arrival departure airport and the resort, incidental hotel expenses, additional accommodations if required, meals, gratuities, insurance, taxes, lift tickets, ski rentals, and items of a personal nature are the responsibility of the winner and his or her guests. The Grand Prize is subject to space availability at time of booking and a minimum of 21 days advance reservations are required. Winner and guests must travel together and guests must be of the age of majority in the state or province in which they reside, except where the winner is the legal parent or guardian of the guest(s). Travel must be completed by April 30, 2008 and black-out dates and restrictions apply. If winner and guests cannot complete travel by date specified, the Grand Prize will be forfeited in its entirety. All aspects of Grand Prize are subject to availability and subject to change. Certain properties may not be available at time of travel and Sponsor reserves right to make substitutions of prize elements in its sole discretion. Some additional restrictions apply. Winner will be provided with additional details at or before time of travel.
4. SELECTION OF WINNERS
On or about May 1, 2007 a random draw will be conducted by the Sponsor or its designee, the judges of the Sweepstakes, to select one (1) entry from all eligible entries received. The Sponsor or its representative will attempt to contact the selected entrant by phone once per day for five (5) business days. If any selected entrant can not be contacted after five (5) business days, or is contacted but is deemed to be ineligible in the Sponsor's sole discretion, or unable or unwilling to comply with these rules, that selected entrant will be disqualified and another name will be drawn. This process may be repeated until one (1) entrant has been declared a winner. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received.
4A. For Canadian Residents Only
Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered by telephone at a time mutually convenient for the entrant and Sponsor or promotional agent of Sponsor.
5. NAME OF PRIZE WINNER
For the name of the prize winner send a self addressed stamped envelope with this request in writing to: Hello BC 2006 Ski Sweepstakes Winner, 244 - 280 Nelson Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6B 2E2, by May 1, 2007.
6. RELEASE
Within fourteen days of receipt thereof, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return the Sweepstakes Sponsor's declaration and release form confirming compliance with Sweepstakes Rules and acceptance of prizes as offered; releasing Sponsor, its agents, and the prize suppliers in respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the Sweepstakes or the awarding or use of the prize; and, except where prohibited, acknowledging the Sponsor's and its agents', subsidiaries' or affiliates' right to publish or broadcast the winner's picture, name, address, voices, statements without further compensation other than the prize offered. Winner's traveling companions (or their parent or guardian if they are under the age of majority, in which case the Winner must be the parent or guardian) will also be required to sign and return a liability/publicity release prior to travel.
7. ERRORS, ETC.
The Sponsor is not responsible for (i) entries which are lost, late, incomplete, postage due, illegible, damaged, destroyed or misdirected; (ii) telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind; (iii) incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond its control which disrupts or interferes with the Sweepstakes; or (v) any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of participant's participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including without limitation any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes.
The Sponsor extends absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of the prize. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond its control, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the electronic portion of the Sweepstakes and/or cancel any method of entry, and randomly select the winner from previously received entries.
The Sponsor reserves the right to amend the terms of this Sweepstakes without prior notice if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules.
8. MISCELLANEOUS
Prize is not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, whether in cash or otherwise, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prize will only be awarded to verified winner. All decisions of the Sponsor or their authorized representatives are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person whose name is supplied on the contest form at Hello BC.com.
